　There is one thing I feel convinced as my child care is coming to be for my second child. That is “Child’s character is virtually nature born.” The reason why I have come to firmly believe it is that even the children born from the same parents, their attitude is totally different from the first day of their birth.

　0-month-old daughter, comparing with her elder brother, remains composed to her environment. My son when he was a new born baby, sensitively reflected even to the sound of flushing toilet, which is called the Moro reflex (reflection of reacting to the sound and both hands move by startle), and he woke up crying. On the contrary, my daughter sleeps calmly even the noise sounds nearby, and even when she wakes up by the reflection, she doesn’t mind at all and comfortably returns to her dream world. She is such a placid girl.

　Observing this way, though we often hear the great influence of environmental factor and education, I think that the surrounding can only give influence to child’s character after birth within the limit of superficial manner disciplining, and not to the basis of the child’s inherent character. However, if it is possible to guide the child’s inherent individual character to further brighter direction, I would think that it is in itself very worthwhile thing to do.
