BIOTEC Information
This time, the exhibition titled “Sand Time” (Period: Apr.30, 2024 ~ Aug.30, 2024), explores the ever-changing nature of time in art――symbolically expressed as “Sand”――and focus on the works of artists who have pursued this fascination. As the visible form, “Sand” is broken down into minimal units. The exhibition explores how a single grain of sand can foreshadow a quantum mechanical future through a variety of works, including metal sculpture by Sato Chu, photographs by Tachihara Sei, a large work by Abe Hiraomi depicting desert, and objects that recall memories by Kitagaw Kenji. Please enjoy the eternal time.
In the Apr. 01 issue of ARTIS No.28, we will introduce in connection with the exhibition, in [Interview] The Art Talk, the director Shigyo Sosyu will discuss the philosophical thought on art and works that portray the eternal time represented by “Sand” as the symbol.
