“ARTIS” (Art in Latin) No.28, introducing the collection of our gallery in various perspectives and receiving favorable reviews from the readers, will be published on Apr. 01. This time, we will be exhibiting Mr. Sato Chu’s metal sculpture, which are newly part of the Shigyo Sosyu Collection, and his thoughts on works and art, titled “Suna no Jikan (Sand Time),” that attempts to depict eternal time symbolized by “Sand.” We will introduce this in an interview project to Director Shigyo Sosyu [Art Talk].
The painting at the Opening Page features Mr. Sato Chu’s “Kiniro no Ame (Golden Rain),” In [Creators] corner, George Black is introduced. This time Ms. Mochizuki Suzuko who studied Nietzsche at Kokugakuin University and is currently engaged in writing activities, has contributed a poem dedicated to Mr. Tachihara Sei’s “[Interlude of light] - Phantom photograph of the Sand.” Please enjoy this beautiful poem, that you can sense the fetal movement of a “Novel Myth.”
Shigyo Sosyu Collection Display Floor / Memorial Gallery of Toshima Yasumasa is holding “Aesthetics of Duplicate” Exhibition until Apr. 20 (Sat). And from Apr.30 (Tus.) titled “Suna no Jikan (Sand Time)” Exhibition( ~ Aug.31), the same title as the ARTIS is scheduled to be held. Mr. Sato Chu’s near-future metal sculpture, Mr. Tachihara Sei’s photograph of Sand, Mr. Abe Hiraomi’s western painting depicting deserts, etc. will be exhibited. We hope you will continue to visit our current and upcoming exhibitions.
