One day over a year ago, I saw a very real and wondrous dream. In the dream, I was filled with a joy of just knowing that I was “Pregnant,” and I told it to my grandmother who 　was alive in my dream.
　“Grandma, I’m, Pregnant! I’m going to give birth to a baby!”
　Then, grandma yelled,
　“No, I’m going to give birth to the baby!!!”
　What? What does she mean? Why does grandma give birth to my baby? Being confused, I woke up startled. As I had much too real sensation for a dream, I clearly remember even now that the confusion continued even after I opened my eyes in my bed. It was quite natural for me to become confused, because I never thought of becoming pregnant at that timing. Firstly, I was startled by seeing a dream of being pregnant, secondly startled to meet my beloved grandma in my dream, and thirdly startled why grandma declared to give birth to my baby, I was filled with triple astonishment.

　The grandmother who appeared in my dream is my father’s side grandmother, that is mother of Shigyo Sosyu, named Shigyo Chizuko. She has raised me, literally a surrogate-mother with gentle all-encompassing love after my mother passed away when I was 3 months old. She passed away just before my marriage, but in her later years she kept saying when she realized her decline in health such as weakening of the knees.

　“I could look after Mayumi-san’s child. As I raised my granddaughter, so I could also raise my great-grandchild. As I lost my strength and could not physically take care of the child, I could have someone help me then I could tell her how to raise the child. That I could do, somehow.”

　Such high-spirited grandmother already lived out her life and was called to Heaven. I felt regretful that my grandmother cannot see my child’s face. As a matter of fact, grandmother who appeared in my dream declared that she would give birth herself instead of looking after her great-grandchild. I thought this must mean something and took a note of the date of this dream.

　After a while, when I have forgotten that I even saw such a dream, I found out that I was really pregnant. What’s more, counting backwards, it turned out to be that the day I saw the dream was generally called “Implantation completed” day. When life comes into being, new life-energy moves through the uterine tube taking several days, and goes through a trial to be implanted on the uterine wall. As this trial takes several days including preparation, it is considered to take about 10 days for implantation to be completed. When implantation is completed, for the first time the new life is connected to mother’s body, and it is regarded as the pregnancy is realized. When I knew my pregnancy, I calculated the medical average time from the ovulation day to the implantation completed day, and computed my implantation completed day. Then, to my surprise, it exactly matched the date, which I took a memo of the date of my grandmother’s dream.

　From this wondrous happening, I myself have experienced regarding the birth of life that there is the world transcending far beyond science is expanding. Whether you believe the existence of the world transcending science or not is a personal liberty. However, it is an obvious fact that such perfect coincidence is actually occurring.
　Before and after my childbirth, many of my acquaintances also gave birth to a child. And in many cases, there were some danger and trouble in mother’s body or in baby occurred, and there was an episode of narrowly being able to give birth with the power of medical treatment. In such circumstances, I can only think that the fact I was able to have a safe and easy delivery, without building-up my body, nor took a long walk, and not to mention taking lessons of maternity yoga nor maternity beauty treatment was only because of my grand-mother’s help. I’m sure my grandmother who was born in Taisho Era and very healthy, must have given birth to my son through my body. Although she cannot take care of my son as she said so when she was alive, I am deeply grateful to my grandmother for giving birth to her great-grandson with myself.
