I am writing on baby-food this time again. I would like to write more about baby-food and I will continue in several coming articles. I hope you will join me.
As I wrote in the start edition, it is necessary to prepare baby-food apart from the adult’s meal, and it takes time. However, though I may feel somewhat tiresome to make in my busy day, I never thought it troublesome. Why? It is because I prepare baby-food thinking it is not only for the baby yet for the adult to enjoy making it as well.
In my home, at the start of baby-food, I ordered “regular delivery of seasonal vegetables” and saved the effort of buying baby-food materials. This seasonal vegetable delivery has a pleasure of opening a treasure box not knowing what is being delivered. When opening the delivered box, “What is this? I have never eaten it before” or “Ah, it is already the season to harvest this vegetable.” As such new discovery was a pleasure, which I have never experienced buying in the super market where not only seasonal vegetables but also everything was available.
And, delicious foodstuffs in season are not only for the baby, but we adults are able to eat with the baby. Thanks to making baby-food, we are able to enjoy the most delicious season of the foodstuffs, and so making baby-food is no longer troublesome, instead I even feel thankful. Unexpectedly, to be able to enjoy the four seasons from the meals is quite beneficial.
Besides these, what I enjoy doing is “Good to eat bingo.” There are lists of good food for the baby to eat at the respective stage such as the beginning and mid-period of baby-food in childcare magazine and baby-food guidebook. It is alright to use the list as it is or you could list up with your own arrangement, and line up the listed foodstuff liken to bingo. And check the foodstuff when baby eats, and if that check is lined up in a row, then it is Bingo! Secretly raise your fist in triumph. Personally, it may be alright to set a prize for bingo (may be 1 bingo deserves a piece of cake) and the motivation may be enhanced. I have enjoyed making how many bingos I can make in each stage of baby-food like a game, and as a result, without feeling any hardship, I was naturally able to widely include good to eat foodstuff for the baby and feed my son.
As such, since we need to spend much time, we adults should figure out how to enjoy preparing baby-food and realize the positive and enjoyable child raising. If the parents are enjoying it, then this atmosphere will be conveyed to the baby and I think the baby shall learn the enjoyment of eating.
