“ARTIS” No.17

　 “ARTIS” (Art in Latin) No.17, introducing the collection of our gallery in various perspectives and receiving favorable responses from the readers, will be issued on Jun.01. In this booklet, in the interview to Shigyo Sosyu “The Art Talk,” on the theme of “Sur life ― Image of life,” he seeks artistic expression for a new era that does not divide portraits and still lifes into two. Art closely related to civilization －. He will talk on the trends of the future.

　On the cover and in [Opening Page] Pursue an Artwork, [Portrait] painted by Ishida Jynichi will be featured. In [Column] Creators, John Martin will be introduced.

　In the new exhibition“Sur life ― Image of life”(Jun.21, 2022 – Sep.24, 2022), the theme covered under the same title in this ARTIS 17 will be displayed in the exhibition. Focusing on the arts of both Toshima Yasumasa, Western painter representing Shigyo Sosyu Collection, and an up-and-coming painter Ishida Jyunichi will be displayed.
