In this booklet, in the Interview to the Director Shigyo Sosyu “The Art Talk,” the source of inspiration for the currently favorably displayed “寂―JAKU (Tranquility)” Exhibition, the ultimate expression of impermanence in this world “JAKU (Tranquility)” ― the unique Japanese sense of beauty that transcends sorrow and joy is contemplated. In “Creators” corner, Nakahara Nantenbo is featured, and the works of Yamaoka Tessyu and others, that the philosophical thought of “ZEN” related to “JAKU” is also introduced in various places.
And in this [Contribution] My Eyes, Mr. Ito Tatsuya, graduate of Meiji University, School of Arts and Letters, has perceived the impression of Koshino Junko’s painting “Kage no Kosei II (Shadow Constitution II)” in the highly artistic writing. Mr. Ito also published his contemplation of Toshima Yasumasa’s “Winter Garden” in the Meiji University School of Arts and Letters Bulletin “Bungei Kenkyu” No.147. Please take a moment to read it.
